Mban Semtu Vrët

Mban Semtu Vrët (/mban/ /ˈsemtu/ [lucky] [hip]) is a subtropical Small Town located in Chrokirupduma Parish, Chyûyu̽ Lu̹sû Empire, within the Warrenese Shogunate.

The name Mban Semtu Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Mban Semtu Vrët was founded by Gó̄boīs Mboīń̄ 'Pinkzzz Dani' Yónḱ Yaw̋ch Vú̄kīs Dharda, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Mban Semtu Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 13°C (55°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 2°C (35°F). Overview

Mban Semtu Vrët was founded durring the early 13th century in winter of the year 1239, by Gó̄boīs Mboīń̄ 'Pinkzzz Dani' Yónḱ Yaw̋ch Vú̄kīs Dharda. The establishment of Mban Semtu Vrët suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Mban Semtu Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mban Semtu Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber and earth construction, with most buildigns first floors resembling mounds of earth, with subsequent floors appearing as elaborate log cabins, with each building forming a tiered pyramid of sorts fromed from the stack of rectangular, peek roofed cabins. Most wooden bracing, support, and trim is carved with decorative knotwork, and the larger structures even feature painted trim which emphasises the knotwork.

Mban Semtu Vrët is is constructed arround a series of narrow cobblestone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town resides behind a palisade wall complete with battlments, a moat, and timber gatehouses with drawbridges. The robustly designed timber walls have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Mban Semtu Vrët has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Mban Semtu Vrët ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Even with that as it is, everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or much of both. The town should be gone, not dying. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Cultural Notes

Mban Semtu Vrët's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
